never sure

Like all the James Patterson Books, and the Alex Cross books in particular, you are drawn into the story from the very start. You quickly care about the characters and are never quite sure where the book is going. The books starts with the kidnapping of two white rich kids. One is the son of a government bigwig. Then we are turned to murders of several black families. This time, it took until nearly the very end to figure out how the stories were intertwined. You are never sure of who did what. We have listened to or read all of his books and have yet to be disappointed. I highly recommend this and all of his books and can't wait for the next one to come out.

With all of the junk available on tv, the internet, in newspapers, rags, magazines and even certain books, I found this book by Robert Kyosaki like a breathe of fresh air.Kiyosaki will tell you some things you don't want to hear like a house is not an asset, why people in the E-Quadrant are paying the absolute most in taxes and more. I agree wholeheartily with Mr. Kiyosaki. We must change our thinking if we want to change our results.Great book. A must read. I also recommend the E-Myth.

GREAT - BUT DON'T READ REVIEWS THAT REVEAL ENDING
Rating: 5/5

If you've just discovered "Presume Innocent" - don't read any reviews, don't see the movie, just get the book and read it. This is a marvelous murder mystery, written with precision and intelligence, yet so reader friendly. I bought this book to read on a four-hour bus ride to visit my Dad and Step-mother for the weekend; I was so rude that weekend because I just could not put this book down. Scott Turow peals away this story layer by layer and the surprises just never stop. I'm 60 and quite a reader - and this is one of the five best books I've ever read. But DON'T READ REVIEWS THAT REVEAL THE ENDING - or you will miss a moment that just knocks you on your behind.

an elegant memoir by a first-rate writer
Rating: 5/5

Sidney Offit is a writer's writer. In this elegant memoir of his father the bookie, Offit has evoked the sense and sensibility of his Baltimore childhood and his father's shady dealings with a fresh and often surprising grace. It's a great read for the details and texture of time and place, but it's also a truly fine piece of writing. A very under-appreciated book by a writer who really should have written something great by now, and perhaps he still will.

Just when I thought he had covered it all

I enjoy reading and trying to improve. I especially enjoy John Maxwell because he, like no other man of today, has helped me to think. Yes, I know we all think, but Dr. Maxwell has given me insights that never crossed my mind and really taught me how to THINK! I have learned about leadership, relationships, and now, with this book, building blocks for tomorrow. My only regret it that I didn't have this book forty years ago, when I was going into college. I honestly thought he had covered all the bases of life, but this book is, perhaps, his best book yet. It definitely is something we can all use. It is the perfect gift for the graduate, or even newlyweds. The lessons taught in this book are a MUST READ for everyone. Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life" helped us discover what life is all about. John Maxwell teaches us how to discipline those purposes into our lives and make each day our "masterpiece". DON'T MISS THIS BOOK!!!

In preparation for a vacation to Glastonbury, I picked up Mists of Avalon concerned that it seemed to be a rather ambitious read. On the contrary! I could not put it down and I breezed through the nearly 900 pages in no time at all. Each page was captivating! I wish it had been 9000 pages; for I was not ready for the story to end. The ONLY character I felt was not terribly well developed was Accolon, but it certainly did not dampen my enthusiam for this fabulous novel! I immediately purchased all of Zimmer Bradley's Avalon series books.

An Excellent addition to the x-wing series

At first I was a little disappointed to realize that none of Allston's wraith squadron characters were going to make an appearance in this book but I got over that pretty quickly. It's nice to see a book focus on Wedge because he doesn't usually get this much attention and he is a really interesting character.(My favorite right behind Corran) The story line is great, a bit of a change from what's becoming the typical x-wing book, and pumped full of Allston humor.(The one thing Stackpole can't quite equal.) An excellent book, I just hope there's more to come.

For a first time reader of Mrs. Chester, her book The Sword, grabbed my imagination with the life like emotions and problems of her characters. Magic, mystery, along with life and death situations leave you hanging on the edge of your couch (or where ever your favorite curl-up spot is) at the end of the book and wishing you had the next to find out how good vanquishs evil. I recomend this book to all fantasy fiction readers alike.

I loved this little book (read the paperback version)...it held my interest...the characters were very well developed and the intimate scenes....made the pages of the book.....steam up! Margaret....please add me to your list of fans...you are an awesome story teller. I started this book on vacation...and really enjoyed it. Sometimes I wanted to jump in the story and hit Carol Ann over her head with a tree...but it was very well written story. Thanks for also sharing how the daughter acted once she started...."feeling grown"....as we know our kids can act. I loved it! keep up the good work. I celebrate your God given talent...only He (God) can create such a fine gift....storytelling!

Rebeccasreads highly recommends THE SHADOW OF THE LAW as a first class debut novel & a powerfully elegant read, offering a deep look into the workings of top American law firms. The two lives of a lawyer -- the personal & the professional are also craftily highlighted. However, because of the legalese, this book will probably be better enjoyed by readers well-versed in law, or have a passion for legal-fiction. Not your usual travel or vacation read -- THE SHADOW OF THE LAW is meant to be savored, relished & enjoyed.
