best imac book to date

I started from scratch (not much computer know how, particularly Macs) when I bought my Imac, and I was aware that it didn't come with a manual. I purchased other books; including Imac for Dummies, The Imac Book, and The Little Imac Book(appropriate title). I'm nothing if not thorough. Each book I purchased had information the other books lacked. But this book is, by far, the most comprehensive and concise one I've read. There is so much more information covered in this book that I wish it had been published sooner. It's the book I refer to the most. Stauffer is a clear, detailed writer with a nice sense of humor. If you're only going to by one Imac book, make it this one.

The Joys of a Simpler Time
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
It was my mother who first introduced me to the world of Laura Ingalls Wilder, a little girl living in a log cabin in the big woods of Wisconin. I heard Laura's stories every evening before bed and when I was old enough my mother gave me the box set she had purchased for me before my birth. I was facinated by Laura's life, the simple beauty of her praire home, and amazed at the strength I saw in not only herself but her father and mother as well. I confess that I have read these books at least once a year since recieveing them (somewhat shy of 25 times) and as my battered, much loved copies crumble into pieces and loose their pages I have added a new box set to my Amazon Wish List.

He's the best of his genre!
Rating: 5/5

I have all of his books! I have read all and would lend them out and not get returned, so sometimes have to buy other copies. I have originals of some of his first ones. No one can get to the 'heart of the matter' aswellas Dean R. Koontz. They are not so 'far out' as to not be believable, but makes you lock your doors and check under your bed and closets. He brings out the most natural of life as we all view and puts that twist on it to question everything. The first I read, I was hooked. I'd love to a 'book critque' as I do read so much, but he's the best and as a person, he pours his life in his stories and sometimes takes more out of him than many think. That's why I love how he can go from something so scary, then so funny and silly, but that touch of horror in there. He's a wonderful writer and deserves much more recognition than he gets.

Mystery on the Field
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
It wasn't surprising that this book started off with Nancy and her friends going somewhere to relax and have fun. Nor was it surprising that Nancy stumbled on to a mystery. What was surprising though, was how the auther manage to work a mystery into a Baseball Game. I still get amazed at how Nancy Drew figures out all these complicated problems and still saves the day. This time it's to help a star pitcher find his little girl and still win a game. I've been reading Nancy Drew for over 9 years now and I think that this one was one of the best!

WHAT A GREAT WRITER!!!!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
High Crimes captures the reader from the very first chapter. The plot is simple -- happy marriage until a past secret is revealed and then all hell breaks loose. Military politics, courtroom drama and an ending that will totally shock the reader. Limited characters make this easy to read. I love the short chapters because it makes it easy to follow. I read Joseph Finder's Paranoia, which is another great book. This is fiction at its very best!!!!

General and Sergeant

My carrier in the Air Force started as Engine Mechanic in early 1950. Then started flying in 1950 on c-54's, moved on to a new airplane, the Douglas Sky Master C-124 as a Flight Engineer and ended up with over 10,083 hours logged. Having read General Yeager's book, twice, I still enjoyed reading it again. You don't have to be cracy to fly, but it sure helps. At one time in Yuma,Arziona, with the help of a Pilot and an outside power unit, we started ALL 4 engines at the same time. Didn't have the nerve to do it again. Even climbed the propeler once to win a bet, didn't do that again either, my stomache like to have kill me. General Yeager, I salute you for a great book. Write another one so that I can relive some of your past as a Pilot

Great Book!

This is a excellent book! It starts with a BANG and almost never slows down. It is about a spy, Sam Fisher, that works for a company called Third Echelon. Sam is sent on missions around the world, and he has to complete them using stealth and speed. This is an action-packed page-turner that you wont want to put down. It may not be as realistic as some of Clancy's other books, but if you are willing to overlook that, this book is a must-have.

I have been reading Dick Francis' books for years, and although I have every single mystery that he has written, this one definitely is one of my favorites. He is a true artist of suspense writing; when the villian(s) are finally revealed the reader can't help but be knocked breathless. This book may have been one of his first, but the reading public should be grateful that it wasn't his last. Forget R.L.Stine - THIS book gives you real goosebumps!

WELL WORTH THE CHASE
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
Simply, beautifully written, takes you THERE...I've been to India, many of those places he's written about, and he recreates them on the page like a stereographic synaesthetic pop-up from the page. Made me laugh really hard, too, unexpectedly. Full of sights, sounds, history-in-living color, intrigue and mystery. An ideal read for armchair backpackers and yogis, and for anyone without an armchair, for that matter.
