beautiful and enchanting

I just finished this book a moment ago and am in awe of it's beauty, intelligence, and elegant use of magic realism. Like the characters in Skellig, one must look deeply and listen carefully to capture all of the symoblism surrounding the birds, William Blakes' poetic references, nature, and the human spirit. I am a bookseller (and former teacher) that specializes in young adult fiction and highly recommend this book to parents, teachers, and anyone else looking for an inspiring read.

Groucho makes me laugh hysterically!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
This is one of the few books I've ever read more than once. Groucho's recollections are witty, charming and unforgettable. I love his stories about the various cars he owned in the early days of automobiles! "Groucho and Me" never fails to make me laugh out loud. In truth, it's funnier than many of the Marx Brothers' movies, but the exploits of their youth contained in this book give added meaning to the mayhem. For instance, the brothers' musical talents are explored in full, and now we know that Chico is a piano virtuoso. Groucho's childhood, vaudeville, film and television memories make for a riotous read!

This book is a gem

I have all the princess diary books! They are great! Mia has to deal with stuff everyone goes through like: being picked on by the cheer leaders, having no breasts a parents divorce and being pushed to hard. At first when I saw this book I doubted I would like it, I thought it might be a book about a perfect princess who I can not relate to in the least. But when I read a few pages I knew it was worth the money!

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
This book is about Roberta who works at her family's arcade. At the arcade and at home Roberta faces many challenges and trys to figure them out or solve them. The book was great! It had a realistic plot and characters who where believable. I was a little dissapointed about the story not centering on the Crusader but other than that it was a real page turner. Anyone who likes mysteries will like this book.

Excellent account of Excellent men
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
The author did a solid job of portraying some of America's best fighting men in action, horrible as it was. Five stars to the men, as well as to the author for telling their story. Another book that tells a much less dramatic story, but nevertheless an excellent portrayal of the mindset and training of modern special operations soldiers is "Danger Close" by Mike Yon. I would like to thank the soldiers who keep this country the free.

Soda Jerk, by Cynthia Rylant: A Review
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
There are certain characteristics that come with living in a small town. Everybody knows everbody. Gossip spreads like wildfire. But a characteristic not often expressd is one of feeling like you're trapped--like you can't ever get out. In the poems contained in the book SODA JERK, by Cynthia Rylant, a young boy expresses his feelings of being trapped in his small Virginia town. This book focuses mainly on the unseen reality of small town life. I used a cutting of this book in high school speech team and went to the state competition with it. This book is very insightful and helped me to realize more of what is there than just meets the eye.

Franzen's Breakout Book
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
As author with my first novel in its initial release, I love to read a novel like THE CORRECTIONS. Jonathan Franzen has written an amazing book here. THE CORRECTIONS will obviously be Mr. Franzen's breakout book. With THE CORRECTIONS, Jonathan Franzen becomes a major novelist. It deals with a marvelously dysfunctional family as the formerly strong patriarch struggles against Parkinson's Disease and dementia. Franzen puts it all into this book. His prose is perfect. His tone couldn't be better. He has vividly drawn characters and a well-plotted story. I cannot imagine this book being better written.
