You must read the other books

If you have not read the reast of his books this is not the best book he has written. Alot of the storylines that this book has in it ties in with the other six books. All the major characters in this book have a more deep story to them in the other books. This is the seventh book in the series. That means that if you have not read the others you will knot know what is going on in this one. it would be like trying to start reading a thousand page book from the seven hundredth page and trying to figure out what is going on. All of the story lines that have been running through the other books all come together in this one. Yes his characters have strong personalities but you learn why in the other books. If you have read the others this book is a five, if you have not then it is a three or four. You don't get all out of this book by starting with this book. Start at the beging of the story and this will be a great book.

Definitely among the best available for improving your C++
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
As a young software developer hungry to learn, I find myself sorting through a large number of computer books to find the well-written ones that are worth investing my time and money in. After reading and using Lippman's C++ Primer, I strongly recommend it as among the best for anyone with programming experience who's interested with improving their understanding of C++. If you're completely new to object-oriented languages, I'd recommend a more introductory text first such as Deitel's C++ How To Program.

A REAL PAGE TURNER

I am so grateful to my friend for recommending this book! I stayed up until 2 in the morning reading it- couldn't wait to see what happened next. I loved Cornelia and Kevin- young, smart, compassionate, promising and purposeful - - I look at doormen differently now! And I was fascinated with Cornelia's obsession with Tesla, a real- life unrecognized scientific genius - Chris Gilson writes with sensitivity, fun, magic and "electriciy" in this adventurous romantic romp- And...he put all the pieces together to come up with a perfect ending. I loved it and am telling all my friends- Chris Gilson is a find!

Gives reasons why

The first question that comes to mind is "How can otherwise decent people commit such horrendous atrocities and on such a large scale?" Chang explains how new unjaded japanese soldiers who arrived in China were forced unwillingly to bayonet Chinese prisoners, and the shame and guilt that they first felt at doing this. But later, after repeatedly engaging in these atrocities, they became inured to it. I recommend this book to everyone who is curious about the very worst effects that war has on soldiers and civilians.

Great read
Rating: 5/5

This book is a great read. It has one of the most powerful endings to any book I have ever read. Not quite as good as A Brave New World in my eyes, but close. The plot basically centers around two people's personal rebellion agains the now infamous "Big Brother". Any serious reader should have not only read this book, but should have it in their library. No matter how much time passes since it was written, it is still a relevant book.

This is a real rip-snorter of a gothic novel. Eighteen-year-old Maude, whose mother is dead, has been raised by her wealthy father, an adherent to a peculiar Scandinavian science religion. There are dark rumors afoot about the character of Maude's father's brother, the mysterious Uncle Silas, into whose guardianship Maude is entrusted at her father's death. Maude is the only thing standing between the money she will inherit from her father (when she comes of age) and Silas' considerable debt. Laudanum addiction, poison, big old houses with uninhabited wings, a creepy cousin (Silas' son), and an evil French governess: if you like gothic novels, this one's got it all.

Daniel's Story is about a Jewish familiy living in Frankfurt during the Holocaust. This book was thrilling! I have never been so interested in a book before. It made you feel like you were there experiencing it right along with them. After I read it I couldn't stop thinking about it! I would recommend this book to people who are interested in the Holocaust and for those who just like a well-written book!

This latest Harry Potter book was everything I expected it to be. Harry matures through the story as does the content. The book gets darker and darker as Harry's troubles become closer. It has an excellent sense of mystery and keeps you guessing about several issues all at once. This time Harry's problems come to him, instead of his trouble making habits coming out. Don't get me wrong he's as daring as ever, but he's forced into situations by someone elses doings. The end of the book left me with so many unanswered questions. I'm thirsting for more and I can't wait until the 5th year.

Dave Pelzer has captured the reader with his rendition of why over a half-million children in some type of foster care need their stories told. While he doesn't answer why he was the child singled out for maltreatment by his mother, he does provide insight into what those of us who have worked in this field for year know - the scapegoat is real in many dysfunctional families. Thank you David. I'm giving this book to many friends, co-workers, and foster children as one of the best books writtien on this subject.
