What a treat!

I enjoy audio books as I travel to and from work. Sometimes I wonder what I am missing by listening rather than reading. But Melissa Hughes talent added to Anita Shreve's fascinating story. Shreve's writing style contains deep thoughts and nuances that can quickly be passed over if one is a fast reader. Hughes' reading was expertly paced and every thought and nuance was easily caught by the listener. I appreciated Hughes' talent for distinguishing the voices of the characters. Not only did she do this by pitch and tone, but through various regional accents of the upper and lower classes, as well as the accents of native French speakers speaking English. Shreve did not disappoint. I savored every moment of the story as it unfolded. Her characters were very real and sympathetic. The ending was unpredictable and yet very satisfying. I highly recommend this book and audio experience.

A Must Read for Fantasy Fanatics
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Both books are absolutely wonderful pieces of work. Great blend of plot and action, without a whole lot of phoney baloney magic. The lack of easily identifiable villains and heros makes this series even more enjoyable to read than Jordan and Goodkind. It is my greatest hope that Martin takes some cues from Feist and wraps this series up within the next 1 or 2 volumes. No fan of fantasy needs to pick up another unfinished 10 volume saga. Keep up the good work Mr. Martin!

I great CLASSIC!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
I read the reviews of this book read what it was about and I thought this looks like a good book so I decided to buy it and see for myself!Boy was that a good, but depressing book!Holdens adventures throughout the unforgiving cities were very sad and kept you reading!(I got so mad when that prostite got Maurice to beat Holden up!!)Anyway this was the classic I thought it would turn out to be!This is totally one of my favorite books! At parts I could relate to Holdens sometimes complicated feelings and other times I failed to,and yet other times I felt sorry for him.He thought mostly everything was depressing! He frequently used the phrase "that kills me".And he said GD at least a million times but despite that it did not ruin this great book at the look into a complicted distrubed juvenile! So if you are a teen and would like a great book to read this is it!(I'm really 14!)

Women/mothers Must Read!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
This book is the product of the author taking one "insignificant" paragraph from the Bible, and expanding it into an unforgettable story. It's the history of women; where we came from. I've passed this on to a number of women, including two who called me in the wee hours of the morning, in tears, after finishing this book. It's for mothers, and daughters, and it's very important to share.

A feast of short international fare
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
A great book for those with short attention spans, short story writers (or aspiring short story writers), and those who want to see the variety of short shorts available. These stories are short but they have a sharp impact on the reader. The Afternotes section provides extra information about the author, which is often not included in short story collections. It also provides interviews with the authors on their inspiration for the story of theirs included in this volume and occasional interviews with translators on how they set about getting the most accurate translation of the story.

I am a freshman in highschool and for my final this year in Child Development we had to read a book to the class as if to a group of children ages 3-5 I knew right away what book I would choose- Are You My Mother? This was a my favorite book as a child and was easy to read to a group without them getting bored. Its also a great way to discuss what to do if your ever seperated from your Mommy. I highly reccomend this book for EVERYONE! And of course, I got an A as my final grade!

Jane's Thoughts on Number the Stars: Bravo Lois Lowery!( :
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
The story is about a girl named Annemarie Johansen and her best friend Ellen Rosen. They are both coping with the challenges of WWII in Copenhagen,Denmark. Ellen is Jewish. Annemarie, her mother, and sister Kirsti are in charge of getting Ellen to safety in Sweden! Will they make it in time?
I like how Lois Lowery made the story exciting by putting Annemarie and Ellen in dangerous situations, for example, being found by Nazi Soldiers. In Order to survive they had to be brave and tell the Nazi's that they were not Jews(which is partly a lie)
The author could of possibly improved the story by making their times together more happy. So much sadness made a very distressing time period for everyone.
For me the message of the book is always come through for your friends especially if you believe it is the right thing to do.

valuable information, truly effective
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Intelligently presented, logical explanation of how and why you can change your lifestyle to make your back pain go away without drastic measures and effective changes for life by doing daily exercises that not only focus on the back region like most "back care books" that have been written, instead this book takes the reader through a whole host of exercises to work the entire body.
Just by my undertaking this program, I have lost 8 pounds and reduced a lot of my general stiffness I seem to have walked around with for years.
My advice to you would be to buy this book, forget anything else you read or hear, and just try it for a month. See what happens, and I bet you'll be more than pleasantly surprised.
