Every History teacher in our world should read this book. It certainly cleared up a lot of questions I had regarding why our world is presently like it is. It would be helpful to update our children's historical education.
Most importantly, historical facts are being proven true by scientic data and modern technology.
5000 years of Dominator/Submissive behavior has taken its toll on sociey and the Earth...this reading will help you define it in your own life.

Judy Blume is a master! This book is absolutely wonderful. It is fast-paced and easy to read and it will make you laugh and cry. This book allows you to become so close to the characters because they are so easy to relate to. Everyone can surely relate to the struggles of adolescence and friendship that Vix and Caitlin endure. I suggest that every woman read this book, it is a perfect summer read. You will not be dissappointed.

One of the Best Books I've Read

Book title: Faerie Tale

Faerie Tale - book cover picture

I have read many books and this one is only one. I first read this in the early '90's and it is very riveting. I especially loved the evil creature under the bridge. It was scary, sexy, and fantastic. This book introduced me to many of the Faerie creatures from Shakespeares "A midsummer nights dream" which I saw on video years later. Puck and his way of doing things with the young girl was almost psycedelic. She didn't know what happened. The twins in Faerie world are magnificent. All in all this was a great book.

A beautiful romance

Claiming the Highlander (The MacAllisters) - book cover picture

I bought this book after I found out Kinley MacGregor is also Sherrilyn Kenyon. Just like with her paranormals, she brings something fresh to a staid, boring formula. I love the way this author's mind works. They way she brings the past to life and can blend it with humor and real emotions.Braden is a welcomed relief from the alpha jerk hero who has to prove himself. He is a man in tune with his strengths and his weaknesses and I love the way he was able to allow the heroine to grow and discover herself. He was a real hero.Maggie really touched me. At times I saw myself in her and I could relate to her wanting to save her family. She was a great heroine for Braden without being bitchy or whiney. The secondary characters are some of the best I've seen. I like the way they weren't background to the story, but were real people who helped bring everything together. Now I'm off to track down more of Macgregor/Kenyon's books. I can't wait to read them.

The first and greatest of the Dune series

Dune (Dune Chronicles (Econo-Clad Hardcover)) - book cover picture

Can I say more than what already has been said about this book? Dune is easily the most enthralling book I have ever read. Frank Herbert has managed to comment on many of our greatest worries (e.g. energy, religion, drugs), weaving them into a tapestry of interstellar proportions. The work takes place in the far future, where the politics of an entire universe is dependent upon a drug (Melange) which can be mined on only one planet: the desert Dune. Plot twists and intrigue abound in this greatest of Herbert's works. One small detail: if you read this work, be sure that you will read each of it's sequels (and there are five). Still, this is as pleasing of a punishment as you ever will receive, so take the risk!!

Something Under the Bed Is Drooling - book cover picture

I love Calvin and Hobbes, but I believe that this collection
is exceptionally impressive. I'm 11 years old, so I'm the
perfect age for this type of thing. Even my grandmother
likes it. The way Watterson portrays the characters is really
amazing. I don't think of Calvin and Hobbes as simply a
comic strip but a world. This book contains some of Watterson's
earliest works, and most original. The boy and the tiger. Not
so interesting, eh? Wrong. This is one of the best collections
of one of the best comic strips on the planet.
Well, I highly recommend all of Bill Watterson's
C&H books, but this one I recommend highest.

As usual,Burke maintains continuity of characters lives and events..when you pick up one of his books, you don't have to finish the first page before you are off and running..the balance of good and evil is maintained by the Author's obvious concern for the characters he has created and nourished..Burke makes you feel as if you could call Billy Bob up and ask him over for coffee..or, take him fishing..Well done, old friend..

Wonderful book

The Joy Luck Club - book cover picture

I'm the president of a book club, and I chose this book partly to appease my female members. The book started out slowly and the simple English was somewhat boring, but once the story began and the characters were fully introduced, I couldn't put it down. This is one of the most beautiful books I have ever read. It teaches us about the Chinese and their mother-daughter relationships, but also helps us understand our own parents and children. The novel is written in a mix between narrative and myth, which makes it all the more intriguing and enjoyable.

Amazing and unpredictable

Book title: The Club Dumas
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
The Club Dumas - book cover picture

_The Club Dumas_ is, without a doubt, one of the best books I've ever read. It's the story of Lucas Corso, a mercenary (please forgive my misspellings) of the book world, and the strange things that happen to him once he obtains an original copy of a chapter of _The Three Musketeers_ ("The Anjou Wine") and the extremley rare book "The Nine Doors". My summary doesn't sound too exciting, but this is an amazing book.I bought this book after seeing the movie "The Nine Gates" (Johnny Dep). The movie left much to be desired, but not the book. The movie is soley about the book, "The Nine Doors", but it plays a different part in the book. The book has many twists and turns, many pretaining to literature, et al, and is the sort of thing most people would enjoy, surprisingly. I am usually able to predict book/movie endings with fair accuracy, but this book took me by surprise time and time again. Don't miss this one!
