The Best of the Series

A Wizard Abroad (Young Wizards, Book 4) - book cover picture

I would say this is probably my favorite book. And by far the best in the series. I love how Diane Duane mixes wizardry, teen life, and Irish Mythology into one fantastic book. I love the fact that Nita has finally met a boy she likes, Ronan. This relationship proves that teens grow up, and have crushes. It's full of suspense, and surprise. You find out a new thing every chapter. I love Fantasy books and if you do too, then I would recommend this. But first read the first three books in the series, then the last two after this one. Overall, it's a great novel that one can read over and over again.

Sein Off: The Final Days of Seinfeld - book cover picture

Mr James N Simpson, you do not seem to be a very good Seinfeld fan. It is a well known fact that the finale was only one whole episode, which aired for a 60 minute time slot. The re-runs are the ones split up into two sections. Obviously you only had a chance to watch re-runs and none of the original airings.
I suggest you do not claim yourself a true Seinfeld Fan as you don't seem to get the facts straight.

How to Become A Successful Financial Consultant - book cover picture

The author's background is a small town CPA, which may account for his no BS approach. Simple (not simplistic) straightforward solid advice for anyone wishing to start a financial advisory practice.I'm have a CPA background and obtained my CFP several years ago, but never practiced financial planning, other than a brief foray working with an insurance company, which was an excercise in high pressure selling. Ugh! I wish I had this book back then!

Supervision of Instruction: A Developmental Approach - book cover picture

Teaching has always been a tuff profession and when you add a poor principal to the mix, the job can be almost unbearable. Glickman, et al have presented the clinical supervision model in a very earthy, hands-on manner. The examples are true to life and the chapter questions are thought provoking and right on the money. This is one book you will keep when your program is done and I'm sure you will come back to it over and over.

Beyond Macaroni and Cheese - book cover picture

Many cookbooks are tempting to read but impractical to cook from every day. This one on the other hand is full of fast, easy, and delicious recipies that are great for kids and adults. I have never made anything from this book that didn't dissapear at the table; the microwave carmel corn is especially good. This is an outstanding book to get for your self or to give as a gift to any mom or dad.

Sometimes what you Don?t Know can Ruin Your Life

The Face on the Milk Carton - book cover picture

This book is a great way to make kids think about who they truly are. It could relate to someone, maybe they will figure out who they are and where they really came from.
The author's way of writing this book was great. I really liked the way he put so many descriptive words in there, but I didn't like the concept of the red hair. Have you really thought about what you have in common with your parents? Sometimes I think I'm from a different family, but I always find something that I have in common with my parents.

Stargirl- The BEST book!!!

Book title: Stargirl
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Stargirl - book cover picture

Stargirl is one of the best books I've ever read! It teaches kids that just because you are a little odd, it doesn't mean you aren't fun, caring, and exciting. That description fits Stargirl perfectly: odd, fun, caring, exciting, and unpredictable.
Stargirl arives at Mica high with no friends. Everyone sees how different (and funny) she is, and a lot of the kids start to like her. But rooting for the oppisite team at the basketall game brings an end to stargirl's popularity. Kids start seeing her as strange, wierd, odd, and someone the definatly DO NOT want to hang out with. But her true friend (boyfriend) sticks by her side. Leo also used to be popular, but after hanging around with Stargirl so much, people are shunning Leo too. But that doesnt stop him from being stargirl's friend.
I would recomend this book to grades 5,6,and 7.

One Nation: America Remembers September 11, 2001 - book cover picture

As vital as this necessary work is for today, its value will increase as the future unfolds. The important element arising from 9-11 in the total perspective is saluting the unfolding legacy developing from those events as they are projected forward toward posterity, never forgetting the sacrifices of those who died and those who risked their lives to assist. It was a day and a period for coming together, for fellowship, for doing for others. This book serves as an important tool in preserving that legacy.Selfish concerns must be forgotten when an event of this magnitude occurs. This is the type of period when Americans must respond to the challenge, to unite. This book captures that unification process in action. These photos are reminiscent for their profound meaning of those taken following the deaths of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John Fitzgerald Kennedy and Martin Luther King. A great nation reveals its best, and displays its unifying core, in the wake of tragedy.

Wasted - book cover picture

As someone whom has recovered from a 13-year struggle with Anorexia and Bulimia and a person now working in the field, I urge you to please consider your situation prior to reading this book. Marya Hornbacher's ability to bring a person into the mind of a sufferer of an eating disorder is intense - which can be useful to a support person of someone whom is struggling. For a person struggling, this insight can be detrimental. I would beg that although the eating disorder would lure you into reading this book - please consider how challenged you are with the eating disorder before reading it. I found this book to be instrumental in my recovery; although, I was in a position to desire recovery. Feedback from others has been that for those not in that spot -- this book will act as a trigger. Please refrain from reading this book until you are in a position to utilize the message as a means for recovery rather than one to feed into the eating disorder.

This series is never disappointing

Book title: Stone Quarry

Stone Quarry - book cover picture

This is a very interesting series since each book toggles back and forth between the two main characters point of view. I probably enjoy the "Lydia" prospective a bit more because of the view into her Chinatown world, but the Bill perspective has always been satisfying. The author successfully works hard at breathing new life into what has been a very over-worked genre. She obviously likes her main characters which makes it easy for the reader to become attached to them also. I look forward to more books in this series since each one has gotten better and better.
