One of the best books that I've read
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
This book is a must read for all science fiction fans. The story is interesting and compelling, and the characters are very well written. The book is very well written and the plot is straightfoward so it doesn't ever get bogged down, yet there is enough depth to the characters and the story to be an extremely interesting read. The evolution of Ender from a picked-on outcast to a proven leader is very compelling.Even if you don't like science fiction, this is an excellent book. This is one of the few books that I've ever re-read (after reading Ender's Shadow), and it was just as good the second time.

Pleasantly Impressed! So captivatingly beautiful!!!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Wow! Ms. Williamson is a very gifted and intelligent writer. I'm not a big fan of romance, as often the characters depicted are too often simplified, one-dimensional and predictable. However, Ms. Williamson's complex characters, plot, and sub-plots, make for a fantastic and breath-taking read. I couldn't put the book down! It was absolutely beautiful and incredible. The love between Arianna and Raine was palpable and something that women (and men) dream about finding in their soulmates. Way to go, Penelope!! I look forward to more inspiring reads!

A book for all fans of fantasy or science fiction!

Wow! The first word to come to mind when I read this book after I got it from the library. I searched local bookstores for almost a year before I decided to try Amazon. But don't be fooled, this book is not meant to be anything like Tolkien. It is written by authors who have been greatly influenced by this great man and his work. There is a story here for everyone, whether you like comedy, tragedy, classic fantasy, or futuristic science-fiction. True, not all the entries were "right up my alley", but reading each of them was a pleasure. I recommend it to anyone whose life has been changed by the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien.

SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING FOR EVERYONE!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Mass Market Paperback
This is one book that I continually recommend to everyone I know, and I have never had one of them come back to me without expressing an amazing amount of gratitude. This is a book that will profoundly impact your life, on many different levels. I have owned the book for six years and still return to it frequently for perspective. While many self-help titles are helpful and encouraging, I don't think you'll ever read another book like it. Give it a chance, and soon you'll begin to see what I mean!

Something special
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
This is something special. If you've read a lot of books, at first you think you know where this one is going although you enjoy the trip anyway. But then, about a third of the way in, something unexpected happens that takes the story off in a completely original direction. The author draws heavily on the various broadcast _Doctor Who_ Dalek episodes, so if you haven't seen them (or read them) you might wonder what all the fuss is about. But if you have, this is quite a ride! As an aside: Several reviewers have commented on Sam's apparent jealousy. I didn't read it that way at all! I thought she was nervous about having to interact with people herself (as the Doctor usually seems to do all the talking). Oh well, every reader has his hang-ups. It doesn't have anything to do with the plot anyway.

A MUST READ!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
Initially I was a bit skeptical about the book, but it turned out to be one of few books I've read this year that truly enlightened me.
This book should be made available to all who can read. The level of ignorance in America must be dealt with immediately. And Worse Than Watergate is definitely among the much needed cure. This book also serves as a stern warning to all of us who are subjected by policies and agenda carried out in secrecy of the Bush administration.
Only the most deluded and incurable brainwashed people who would find this well-written book of any less than a bright five-star rating.
I have bought 50 copies of this book and donated them to libraries and schools around the country because I felt that if Bush and his neo-con friends had their way, I would have never be able to get my hand on this kind of book.

this was the first book that captivated me by the author, leading me onto readin several of her others. although i wouldn't reccomand it, i checked it out and "kinda" forgot to return it, before i moved, i was so attached to it (yes, i'm very ashamed of myself, and yes, i did send them money for it). she does the story best, better than anyone ever did (especially linda woolvertan [disney]) everyhting fits into place. the characters are perfect, she enters their souls as if they were her own. if all books could be as good as robin mckinley's, maybe i'd actually start paying attention in english clas

I love this book
Rating: 5/5

Hey, life is real, and to me this story is real. Nowadays it's so difficult to find a really satisfying read, but this one is a heart-warming and interesting story. I've read it a couple of times so far, but I know I'll read it several times over by the end of the year. One other book that has truly touched my life, too, and has helped me tremendously as it deals with the real issues in life, is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding & Overcoming Depression" --that's another great read available at Amazon.

Incredible insights into the nature of music
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
How very few thinkers on music dare even consider the topic of emotion and meaning in music shows the difficulty of the task Meyer sets himself. This is a truly important book--far beyond any history or theoretical tome I've ever read, this aims right at the heart of what music is about. It is very tough going--this was adapted from Meyer's doctoral dissertation, but it repays every effort made. Meyer's mind is enviably far-ranging; he uses examples from the visual arts to the hard sciences and philosophy to make his points. His later book, Explaining Music, is an easier read, still full of valuable insights but much more oriented toward a theoretical, quasi-Schenkerian approach to music. But for me, Emotion and Meaning in Music (along with his much later Style and Music) is much more significant, dealing with more profound and much less frequently discussed issues. This book has my HIGHEST recommndation.

This book will blow you away!

Now I'm a huge reader like most of the reveiwers on Amazon, but this book is undobtedly my favorite book I've ever read, and I'm definatly going to read the second book.It is well written and not to confusing. Although there aren't clear transitions inbetween seens, it is organized. One of the things that struck me is the origanality of the book, there is no other book about magical pants that I've heard of. You've really got to read this book else you will be sadly dissapointed. Caution: This IS a girl book, so don't buy it for your nephew.
