One of the best Haldeman books
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Haldeman has a dedicated following for a reason, one of the big reasons is this book. I read Mindbridge after reading Worlds and Worlds Apart. Since then I've read most of Haldman's novels. My favorites are easily, Forever Peace, Forever War, Mindbridge, and Worlds Apart. This is a great place to start if you are new to Haldeman. My only complaint is it's a little short. More like a long novella. It does make for a nice quick read on a weekend when you want to relax with a good book.

Another great read......Factual and informed
Rating: 5/5

This is the second review I have penned on this topic.
The other was for a book titled Mercury: The Winged Messenger.
Parents must read these two books. The information presented leaves little doubt to what happened to all of these vaccine injured / Autistic children......MERCURY !! The evidence is overwhelming and the documentation proves the fine points.
I liked this book, it was well written. Parents need to educate themselves on this tradedy from non governmental sources. They tend to protect the Big Pharma. ( As you will see in this book and in the book titled, Mercury The Winged Messenger )
Thank You

It made me think about heroism in today's world
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Audio Cassette
What I most enjoyed about this book was the indefinition level: in a large part of the story, the characters don't know exactly what they want or what their role in life is. This has pushed me into their world. I felt lost with them. I craved for a hero, which is inconsistent with my view of heroism. I disagreed with the writer, wishing he showed me this story in another way. I was not passive, so when in the end of the book I cried, it didn't feel manipulative. I'm glad I read this book.

A Fine Portrait of Frontier Life
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Death Comes for the Archbishop is an anomaly among Cather's works, and, for that matter, all twentieth-century works. In this book, you will not find chronology, action, or drama. You will, however, find a story that will grip you and will not let you go until Death finally does come for the Archbishop. If you are interested in precise, simple prose, a heart-warming story, and have a few hours to spare (the novel is rather short; the font is large), pick up a copy and enjoy yourself.

An Interesting Book to Hit the Top
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
It was interesting to note that this book is among several top 10's in science. It must result from good educational institutions: I saw this book courtesy of my daughter and was able to spend time with it over the holidays. There is an urgent message here, as everyone knows and WWF is able to get important people on board, not only with endorsements but with their explanations of the threat the world's ecology is facing. This book does a good job of framing out the larger picture already set by books this year which have given compelling narratives also illustrating the biodiversity crisis-- Goodall's Reason for Hope, Johnson and Coates' Nabokov's Blues, and other books like Quammen's Song of the Dodo. Its good to see all these books getting attention. It is going to take a mammoth awareness to really move the world, most of whom will never see amazon.com and this review away from the global destruction that today is most often the norm.

This book is I think very interesting and very easy to understand for anybody, even for people which english is as their second language. The presentation of this book is very formal way. I think the authour must be very famous because ofthis book. I'ver read many historical fiction books, but this is the first book that I found it very interesting and easy. I encourage people to read this book. I don't want to give them the summery of the book, because I want everyone to read this very interesting book.

What Waiting for Godot could have been.

These desperate souls spend their days (and nights) with Harry Hope, in his seedy bar on the lower west side before there was a West Side. O'Neill creates a world and characters that are true to life; the downtrodden, hopeless men and women that so many after him have tried to recreate both on stage and on film. Few have been able duplicate the desperation and loneliness of the alcholic and disillustioned among us. O'Neill's play presents us with seven Willy Loman's; people who are living in a better past and dreaming of a future that even they know will not be attained. Yet, through the entire play we believe it may happen for them. There may just be a little farm and better, sunny days for each character.

Sharpe: Wellington's Only Hope!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Audio Cassette
'Shapre's Gold' is another wonderful novel in the great Napoleonic war series. This time, Richard Sharpe is up against the French, Spanish paritsans, and Wellington's own military police. Wellington, desperate to defend his hold on Portugal, sends Sharpe on a special errand into Spain to collect hidden gold. Along the way Sharpe Sharpe falls in love with one of the partisans and manages to make an enemy of her intended husband. This, like most of Cornwell's Sharpe novels, is a novel that can take the reader back in time and place him at the heart of the action. The battle scenes, as usual, are first rate and Cornwell's ability to create characters is unmatched. If you love adventure or war novels this one will not dissappoint!
