Not a typical highwayman kidnaps helpless woman book!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Mass Market Paperback
Captain Starlight was notorious for his highway robberies. He was startled when Renee d'Anton stepped down from the coach he was suppose to be robbing and announced that she would like to hire him steal a set of heirloom rubies. Even more startling was the fact that he was to steal them from her as she traveled by coach in a couple of weeks! Of course he suspected a trap set up by Colonel Roth. Renee was helping Roth capture the highwayman only because refusal meant the death of her fourteen year old brother. However, she also expected to double cross Roth. Never would she submit to Roth or be forced to wed Edgar. With the highwayman's help, she and her brother would escape and be far away from everyone's reach! ***Not a typical highwayman kidnaps helpless woman story! This woman has strength and courage, even though she does not FEEL strong or courageous! No simpering Miss here! I loved it!***

this book is a slightly updated version of edition number three. not much was changed - either version scores a 5 in my book. like many others, i have invested several hundred dollars in RE investment "how-to's". i seriously believe that you can obtain more usable, practical (read truthful and usable) information from this single volume than all the others on my bookshelf. you won't find a more comprehensive, relavent work on the subject. beyond content, its also written in a manner that invites understanding and complex subjects are dealt with in just the right amount of detail. i strongly recommend this work as a basic primer on making a living via real estate investing. the author(s) obviously take their subject matter seriously - offering a high degree of integrity with this book.

I had a baby 8 months ago and I gained a lot of weight I decided in February to start Dr. Atkins. I know many people who have lost significant amounts of weight. I feel very discouraged and don't know what I am doing wrong. I am not sure if I am suppose to drink a certain amount of water and exercise. Everyone I speak to tells me that is not the important part and that they really don't drink or exercise much. I would love to know what a typical day of drinking water and working out is required. I need to lose 30lbs and would love to lose 20 lbs by the end of JUNE. Everyone tells me that it is simple. Can anyone give a new mom who needs a pick me up in losing some excess weight advise. I would appreciate any tips that you can think that helped you lose weight. Thanks

Asimov's prelude to the Foundation trilogy is a complete and well detailed journey throughout a world of 40 billion, dealing with complex issues and splendidly bizarre cultures in the early years of Hari Seldon's study of Psychohistory. On Trantor, the capital planet of a Galactic Empire with as many planets under its power as there are people on it's surface, a little known mathematician is thrown into galactic intrigue and a run for his life when his research is sought out by those who must not be allowed to obtain it. Literally a page turner, and a requirement for those who love science fiction.

A modern classic! This is a GREAT work of fiction. The events that unfold are both tragic and believable. Andres Dubus is a master at creating characters that are both lovable and unlovable. The characters in this book are drawn together by an unlikely but plausible event and the disintegration of these lives is heartbreaking. He also writes beautifully of the San Francisco Bay area, making you feel that you are there. This is one of the best books I have read this year. It's not often I find a work of fiction that I can't wait to pick up again and see what happens next. So much of the fiction written today is utterly predictable. I loved this book.

The Travis McGee series represents one of the greatest accomplishments of American fiction -- ever. Never mind the rumors of MacDonald working on another story (before he died) with the color "Black" in the title, this is the way a series should end. Travis has taken countless blows, physical and emotional, throughout his career. In this novel, however, we see Travis's rusty armour nearly falling off, his horse nearly crippled, and his enemies closing in on all sides for the kill. As he triumphs one last time over the insurmountable odds, he gains a new reason to continue being the white knight. While this book is superb, I wouldn't recommend reading it until you've read at least a few others in the series (especially "Pale Gray for Guilt"). Not only will you understand more about the plot and characters, you will have more invested in seeing Travis's ultimate redemption.

I hate to give a perfect score to anything, but this is one of the 10 best fantasy novels I've ever read. The complexity of the characters puts other authors to shame. I've become extremely tired of Edding's and Brooks's cliched fantasy and I'm really excited to see a newcomer of such obvious talent.
If you enjoy intrigue, character study and suspense more than 'magic item of the week', give this book a try.

When I first read Ulysses, my friends got tired of hearing about it. Sure it's difficult. Sometimes I literally had to read the book backwards in search of a missing or forgotten thread. One small section is so fiendishly composed that I had to write it out by hand to untangle it. Other parts are as obscure to me now as they were when I first read them. That being said, when you lock onto Ulysses--when you can hold onto the thread--the words, the pages, everything vanishes. Pure thought, like music or cocaine, insinuates itself into your mind and clings to the pleasure centers. That you may never totally unravel Ulysses is unimportant. The pleasure comes from experiencing not completing it.
