Area 7 by Matthew Reilly definatly earned its place on my top five favorite books. I can not explain how vivid the imagery is, how much action is packed per page and is still retains a phenomenal plot without spoiling due to the constant action. On the critical side, the book's plot is incredible. It TRULY makes you sit back and say, woah... that COULD happen. On the entertainment side. The book is better, yes BETTER than watching a modern fight movie as far as the wonderful descriptions etc. Overall, I would give this book a 9.9 out of ten... and that's ONLY because nothing is perfect ;-)

Incredible! Intelligent--Brilliant! I literally couldn't stop reading this book. As a student of Canon Law, I was curious about why 98% of those Americans who petitioned for annulments in 1997 were granted them as this seems to justify contentions that "annulment" is merely the Catholic name for "divorce". Vasoli tackles such hard questions honestly with factual basis--and after trying to gain an understanding of the situation via my univ. law and theology professors, such straightforward analysis on the annulment issue is very rare. Also, Vasoli does it in such a way that I read 213 pages in one sitting. He provides great documentation/annotations, and very valuable statistics. I cannot recommend it enough!

Life in the City
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Lehane captures the essence of life in a small, quickly gentrifying Irish neighborhood of a big city. The 1970's working stiffs who worked in the local factories while trying to raise their families. Three boys, street wise kids whose lives take them in different directions only to be brought together again years later following the vicious slaying of the teenage daughter of one of them. A dark secret from their past cannot be shaken loose from their now adult memories. This story is real. It's a reality show with real cops, real criminals, and real live characters who, while fictionalized, are the friends and neighbors of those of us who have ever lived in a big city.

The Truth shall set you free in this tell all honest look into the life in a terrible enviroment, the enviroment inside of a mind that has been physically and mentally abused.. The book delves into the pain that she had to live through similar to that of the reality based/courageous 'NIGHTMARES ECHO',has poignant,at times a bit of humor like that of 'RUNNING WITH SCISSORS', and a bit sorrowful like that of 'BEAUTY FOR ASHES'. No matter what comparrison you make....'Lucky' is an exceptional look at abuse..........and as I have seen from the prior books I have read, abuse comes in many forms and scars what it touches!

An excellent personal account of the U-boat war
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
I first read this book in the early 70s. It is an excellent read, and anyone who reads it will never forget it. Werner has been criticized for some inaccuracies and exaggeration; there are factual errors in the book (such as the size of some of the convoys her encountered whole XO on U-230). Still, it is the most engrossing account by a German sailor I've ever read. I very highly recommend it; everyone I've recommended it to loved it.

Very useful overview of Mozart's life and work
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
This is the first book I reach for when I want basic information on Mozart. It is compact enough to read straight through in a few hours; it is also well-organized for reference by subject. There is succinct coverage of everything you'd want in a composer's biography: dates, events, family, colleagues, works; there is a good amount of musical analysis, a few pages of autograph manuscript, portraits of the composer, a lengthy bibliography, and a work list. This includes dates, key, forces required, title where applicable, and Koechel number(s). There is no mental analysis or minute examination of the Baesle letters or anything of the sort here, just the "hard facts" on Mozart--and plentiful guidance on where to look next if you need more information on a great composer.

My Harvey Experience
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Mr. Harvey's writing is intelligent, genuine, poetic and intriguing. He has the rare courage to expose his imperfections and personal demons. He reaches out to all denominations.
His focus is on the holy woman, Mother Meera.
I made the pilgrimage to Mother Meera and can testify that I encountered a small glimpse of the paranormal experiences that he encountered. While his were far more theatric, my experiences validated his. His book becomes more helpful and valuable with each re-reading. Also highly recommended - Journey in Ladakh.

I have never been a Harry Potter fanatic don't consider myself a huge fan of the books but I do enjoy the movies. Maybe it's the British humor that I can never get the hang of I don't know. "Pete what did you think of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince if you were so unmoved by the rest of the books?
Well I liked the book a whole lot as it happened especially the ending which I will not give away. Ms. Rowling this time has turned out a book that can hold its own against all others of its kind (that's juvenile fantasy you understand not adult fantasy). All the things that make a book good can be found here and I have to say in terms of the plot and narrative flow the book just jives better then any of the others.
Overall-The author finally has my convinced she can write a good book and I feel that I will be swept away on the wave of hype next time around. This book is good trust the word of a former skeptic please. This is the best Harry Potter book yet.
