It Must Be Love (Avon Light Contemporary Romances) - book cover picture

This book was delightful. I read it while on vacation and my friend kept looking at me because I kept laughing! The situations and dialog were terrific. I read alot, and am very critical! And to find a book that I can read in one sitting (or two) is wonderful. They are few and far between! I highly recommend this book. The friend who was on vacation with me read it after I did, and she laughed too! We both loved it!

Naked - book cover picture

I loved this books soooo much its truly a classic. This is one of the only books that has made me laugh out loud, the others being Barrel Fever and The Catcher In the Rye. While I agree that "Something for Everyone" is a little disturbing how can someone not laugh at a guy who has a room filled with penises? "True Detectives", "Drama Bug", "Dinah the Xmas Whore" and others are great. The whole book is wonderful. Read when you need you some cheering up or just read its hilarious. He's truly one the best writers around today

The Face on the Milk Carton - book cover picture

I think that this book tells what happens to too many young children today in America. I really think that this book was wonderful. It described it so well I thought that I was really there. In the story, Janie Johnson is a reagular girl until she glances at the back of her friend's milk carton. You know, the ones that have pictures of missing children. Well she thought nothing of it at first but then she realised that it was her on the milk carton. Follow her through her struggles as she tells the family she's always known that she was kidnapped in a New Jersey shopping center when she was three. Follw her through three more books: Whatever Happened to Janie, The Voice On The Radio, and What Janie Found.

It was one of the best books I've ever read!!!!

Book title: Taran Wanderer (Pyrdain Chronicles)

Taran Wanderer (Pyrdain Chronicles) - book cover picture

Taran Wanderer was a great book! It is a great contrast between reality and the world we live in and a fantastical land (Prydain). The way it was written it can be picked up and read before the others or read in it's actual order. I fell in love with the chronicals of Prydain as soon as I picked up the first one. Taran seems more real in this book than the others because the conflicts are more real... for example his original quest and what truly happens in the end and that he learns more than he thought he would is a great finishing touch to such a great book. I encourage all who read this review to read this wonderful book written by a wonderful author. -Ca a faithful reader

WHOA--what a read

Seductive Poison - book cover picture

Wow I'm mesmerized. A Big story told by a powerfully courageous little woman. At eighteen the author met Rev. Jim Jones and joined his band of off beat seemingly good meaninged street angels. But what Layton later finds is that all is a fascade and her Godly cloacked minster is really a psychopath. I was unable to breath through half the book it's so jam packed with action. WOW! How she survived is mind blowing. Great, great, full throttle story. Thank the Lord she lived to tell. There were some amazingly close calls. I'm impressed and I hope to read more of her work.

Holes (Readers Circle) - book cover picture

Holes, which is by Louis Sacher, is a veryinteresting book. It gets your attention and keeps it. I would recommend it to kids in the fourth, fifth, and sixth graders because it would most likely be too hard for third graders and up. I think Louis Sachar will be the next Roald Dahl because of his creative and comedic writing style. He has the skills and talent to become a great writer even further more than he alredy is.

This is definitely one of my all-time favorites. I own most of the books in Vlad's series, but this one is definitely the best, equaled only by Phoenix. The plot was so intricately complicated, yet made such perfect sense that it was breathtaking. Steven Brust is definitely a master storyweaver, and his entire Dragaera series, including "The Phoenix Guards" and its sequel(s) is a must!

Willie Bodega dont sell rocks, Willie Bodega sells dreams!

Book title: Bodega Dreams : A Novel

Bodega Dreams : A Novel - book cover picture

I gave this book five stars because it's written different than any other I have read in my high school career. It gives you a look at big city life, and the hopes and dreams one man has for his community. He may sell drugs to get the money to provide for his people to get the proper schooling and housing they deserve, but as its stated in the book, "Willie Bodega don't sell rocks, Willie Bodega sells dreams." It's the only way he can get the funds needed to give the poverty stricken people the upper hand they deserve. This man looks at his community and sees never ending possibilities. This is a great story of love, hope, and dreams. It puts you in the middle of Spanish Harlem, and lets you see life through the characters eyes. I would recommend this book to anyone who's interested in different cultures, and ways of life.

Couldn't Stop Reading

Book title: The sum of all fears

The sum of all fears - book cover picture

This book is addictive reading. Jack Ryan was CIA's rising star until Bob Fowler became President. He doesn't think as much of Ryan as the Deputy Director, Central Intelligence, and his National Security Advisor, Elizabeth Elliot, thinks even less. They got off to a bad start, and now she is above him and trying to make his life miserable by spreading lies about his sexual conduct and trying to create something to kick him out of CIA with. At the same time, a group of terrorists are constructing a Nuclear bomb that they intend to use at the Super Bowl not only to kill the thousands of fans, but the Secretary of Defense and the Secreatary of State, who are also at the game. The last 300 pages are probably the most intense put to print. The downside is that it starts out pretty slow, but it shapes to be among the three best Clancy books ever, and there have been some good ones.
