Hypnotic
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Mass Market Paperback
This is a wonderful Alice Hoffman, maybe slightly better than *Practical Magic*! The cast of characters are memorable, each with a past and are three dimensional people, unique and their names fit them. You can identify with each and every one. The Angel added a lovely touch to the story, who lives in the gumbo lingo trees, and his affection for Shannon. Shannon's mother's ex-boyfriend, Julian, helps Lucy search for her son Keith, and a murdered woman's baby, causing them to go all around Verity, and even up to Long Island. Wonderful, memorable, hypnotic. Alice Hoffman has done it again. And her descriptions of Great Neck and accuracy of high schools are fantastic!!! :) *Turtle Moon* is a definite winner.

Another perfect score for JK Rowling!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
Another perfect score for JK Rowling. Well. It was worth the wait. Harry Potter is back at his "mischevious" ways. But is someone out to kill Harry again? Harry, Ron, and Hermione are officially teenagers now. They've finally started to notice people from the opposite gender. But are they in love with the right people? Harry's life seems to take a turn for the worst after his name comes out of the Goblet of Fire. Nobody will beleive that Harry didn't enter himself into the TriWizard Tournament. Not even Ron beleives him, which gets them into a very long quarrel. But some of the people that are very well liked by different readers are dieing. One of whom is vastly over rated. Not that I don't like them of course. If your thinking about reading it, you really should. Don't get left behind. Follow the trend and read it, or you'll deffinetaly get left out.

Wendelin Van Draanen Does It Again!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Wendelin Van Draanen has written many books, including The Sammy Keyes series. Now for something completely different, Flipped is the best book she's written. The humerous story of two kids who grew up together, and one who can't live down the fact that Juli Baker is absolutly in love with him. This is an excellent book with humor, sadness, and a little romance. I think that Wendelin Van Draanen has come up with, yet again a excellent book for millions.

Actually 4.5 Stars
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
I have to agree the writing style is not the best. Often I lost concentration reading paragraph after paragraph on the same topic. Does not do a good job at pointing out important stuff from the less important. Having said that, I must praise the writer for such in-depth coverage of Java and definitely recommend to have a copy for reference. Not for beginners. Pefect for Intermediate Level programmers.

My copies keep disappearing
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
I think over the years since I first discovered this book, I have probably bought 10 copies. They all disappear, as most "borrowed" books do. As other reviewers have noted, it is hilarious. The only people I know, who did not find it funny, are those who never finished high school, or just squeaked by. I was reminded of a line from the World History section of the book recently. The line from the book was, I believe, "Sir Francis Drake circumcised the world with an 80 foot clipper." A teacher was actually the one who reminded me of it. She was referring to a large catamaran and made the claim it could "circumvent" the world. She went on to mention it had its own "desaltation" unit. Fortunately, she was not teaching my daughter English!

Heavy going, but worth the effort
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
I think that a lot of people who work in information technology tend to think that the problems that we have with things like web-based search and retrieval are unique to Internet search engines and catalogue databases. I know that I've been working in the field while lacking an adequate sense of the historical basis of information organization.Svenonius breaks information organization down into ideology (purposes and principles), the formalization of the processes involved in information organization, knowledge based on research, and key problems that need to be solved. It's information that's very useful for anybody who is involved with organization of information-- even for people like me who work more on the technical than conceptual side of content management systems.

Journey to the East without a Lonely Planet Guidebook
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
This is a whimsical journey to different lands and through other times. Originally published in German as "Die Morgenlandfahrt", or Journey to the Land of Light, it is a spiritual expedition by members of a secret League. Written in the first person, HH (Hesse) seeks his dream only to lose it through despair. He learns despair can be transformed to creativity just as creators of art, music and poetry have proven. This short novella could be read within a rainy afternoon, but the prose is so fluid you'll want to read it again, even when the sun is shinning.

Spong Builds His Messages.
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
I made the mistake of reading this book before reading "Rescuing the Bible From Fundamentalism." Now this book makes much more sense. Bp. Spong does his homework, builds his themes carefully and provides references as one reads along. I suggest that his books be read in order of their publication date for the full impact. Some may argue that Bp. Spong is no longer Christian. I would argue that he demonstrates in his every thought and action that he is a true Christ-follower and it is integrated into his very being. He is a thinker who encourages others to do the same.
