Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) - book cover picture

This is the most exciting book in the series so far-- the plot is less formulaic and everything just flows, though you still never know what's going to happen next. The characters grow up a bit as they deal with bigger/smaller problems than simply solving Mystery? Evil. This is a pivotal point and big change in the series, and instead of being open-and-shut, it's more like a stepping stone that leaves you begging for more. (I would've been happy if it'd been 1700 pages long!) Can't wait till Harry's 5th year at Hogwarts!

Kudos to Mr. Snicket (althought we know that's not his name).
Here we have the next three in this marvelous series! The Baudelaire orphans get into worse and worse situations, with the author's grief at having to present us with this information never becoming schtick or overused.
The writing is friendly and open, inviting the reader into a dark, serious world where there is nothing funny about a baby having to use her teeth to climb an elevator shaft.
Of course you will want to read this next set of books! The author continues to develop the story quickly, with little frill but with great charm and vivid descriptions.
All in all, it is very hard to find a weakness in these books.

An exciting romantic story with a twist of suspense!

Book title: Love Unveiled (Indigo)
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Love Unveiled (Indigo) - book cover picture

This was one of the best romance stories I have read, where the attraction of two people, begin long before they actually meet in person. Once Julia Hart and Brad Coleman finally meet face to face, the strong attraction is felt automatically. In most relationships, they are dealt with many hurdles they must jump but as love conquers them both, they soon find life with each other is way better than without. An easy smooth storyline, with the added twist of suspense basically has to do with Brad's occupation but it does not take away from the flames burning between him and Julia. To those Arabesque fans, this author is known to us as "Doris Johnson", if you've read some of her novels under Arabesque, then you are bound to enjoy this one as well.

An absolute must

Death in the Dark Continent - book cover picture

It was a revealing book for all who have not yet hunted in Afrika or anywhere else. Revealing in a way that all of my delusion about hunting in Afrika were defenetly broken. If you think that hunting is just siting down behind a bush and waiting for an animal to shoot you are mistaken. How dangerous it really is can be told by the fact that most great hunters were either eaten by a lion or trempelled by an elephant. This is an absolute must for all who love adventure and reading in general.

Little Children : A Novel - book cover picture

There is a dark undercurrent in YOU REMIND ME OF ME that is oddly refreshing because of the biting sense of reality. Evoking strong images of MY FRACTURED LIFE and THE LOS ANGELES DIARIES, Don Chaon's YOU REMIND ME OF ME is a strong story of a fragmented family struggling with the unique challenges of mental illness and poverty. Gritty subject matters to be clear, but woven with expertise into a stunning novel.

By far, one the best books I have ever read

Book title: The Red Tent : A Novel

The Red Tent : A Novel - book cover picture

This book was recommended to me via a friend in a book club. At first, I was hesitant due to the nature of the book and my non-religious background. However, I can tell you that this book is the only book that has ever moved me to tears. It's the kind of book that when you finish, you set the book down and think about it for days to come.I have passed this book on to friends and women in my family and all have come back with the same response... "phenomeonal". Don't let the subject matter haunt you, Red Tent is a story everyone can learn from.

The Two Towers: part two of the greatest trilogy ever

Book title: The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings, Part 2)

The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings, Part 2) - book cover picture

As the sequel of The Fellowship of the Ring and part two of The Lord of the Rings, this is definetley a page-turner. The strength of Isengard while Saruaman is ruling it has become so great that the great Men of Gondor dont think they have much hope without help. In this amazing book the friendship of the Fellowship and the loyalty that Sam has for Frodo is definetley tested. Gollum is playing a big part in this book also, being Frodo and Sam's guide through the Nameless Land. These hobbits have overcome so much that that as Sam puts it, "they should write a song about our adventures". This is a wonderful, awe-striking book. READ IT!!!

Soul Searching

Book title: Acts of Honor
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Mass Market Paperback
Acts of Honor - book cover picture

Acts of Honor deserves a place above most mystery thrillers. Whereas it contains all the excellent action and suspense expected in the genre, it also carries a deeper message. For example an unorthadox type of romance develops out of a potentially volatile situation. However, Ms. Hinze is able to handle the situation with delicacy and turn what seems to be an unacceptable situation into a desirable one. She shows both the heroine and her male lead in their most noble lights. It is a true delight to read and, while leaving the reader with a sense of satisfaction at the end, the novel also generates some serious thinking about right and wrong. Upon finishing it, I felt not only entertained, but educated.

a very good introduction to the history of philosophy!

Book title: Sophie's World : A Novel About the History of Philosophy
Rating: 5/5

Sophie's World : A Novel About the History of Philosophy - book cover picture

I enjoyed this book very much! The book in itself is very well written, very wisely written. It tells the story of a girl that gets letters from a stranger, and this stranger starts giving her a course in philosophy. This course starts from the very beginning of philosophical thought up to our times. The book is also a mystery since Sophie doesn't know who sends her the letters. The whole concept of the book is very original and has a philosophical idea at it's core on which the whole book is based (you'll never guess it!).The book is written very clearly to anyone that doesn't have a clue about philosophy and one gets a very good opportunity to get to know verious philosophers and read about those that interest you most ,after reading this book.Very highly recommended!
